Academic Year 2023/2024 - Teacher: EUGENIO PEDULLA'Expected Learning Outcomes
Provide the student with the theoretical and practical bases to be able to conduct the integrated management of odontostomatological pathologies related to medical, surgical and dental therapy.
At the end of the course the student must be able to manage the procedures in subjects affected by the main systemic diseases with clinical appropriateness; to plan the interview with the patient correctly; to promote the prevention of medical emergencies.
The course contains in an overall synthesis the clinical approaches to the various pathologies that can affect the oral cavity.

Lectures, discussion of clinical cases, seminars on medical emergencies.

Medical emergencies in dental facilities;
-Discussion of clinical cases of oral mucosal diseases;
-Discussion of clinical cases of surgery, periodontology and oral implantology;
-Discussion of clinical cases of conservative and endondotia.
Treatment plan for the patient together with dental medicine combining knowledge of periodontology, surgery, conservative medicine, endodontics, implantology, gnathology, orthodontics.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
Oral exam. To assign the final grade, the following parameters will be taken into account:
Score 29 - 30 cum laude: the student has an in-depth knowledge of the main pathologies and related therapies in dental clinics, is able to promptly and correctly integrate and critically analyze the clinical situations presented, solving diagnostic and therapeutic problems, even those of high complexity; has excellent communication skills and masters dental clinical language.
Score 26 - 28: the student has a good knowledge of the main pathologies and related odontostomatological clinical therapies, is able to integrate and critically analyze the clinical cases presented, to solve complex diagnostic problems quite autonomously by exposing the topics clearly with appropriate dental clinical language.
Score 22 - 25: the student has a fair knowledge of the main pathologies and related dental clinic therapies, even if limited to the main topics; she manages to integrate and analyze the clinical cases presented even if not in a linear and consequential way. The student explains the topics in a fairly clear way with good dental language skills.
Score 18 - 21: the student has a minimal knowledge of the main pathologies and related clinical dentistry therapies, a modest ability to integrate and analyze the clinical cases presented and presents the topics in a sufficiently clear way with a poorly developed command of clinical dental language.
Exam not passed: the student does not have the minimum required knowledge of the main contents of the course. The ability to use specific dental clinical language is poor or non-existent, furthermore he is not able to independently apply the knowledge acquired.
