Oral pathologyModule Dermatological aspects of odontoiatric diseases
Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: FRANCESCO MARIA LACARRUBBAExpected Learning Outcomes
The teaching of Dermatologic aspects of odontoiatric diseases aims primarily to provide the basics of anatomy and physiology of the skin, of visible mucous membranes and skin appendages, whose knowledge is essential for a correct clinical and diagnostic assessment. The student is then guided to the identification and classification of primary skin lesions and of the corresponding cutaneous disorders that may involve the oral cavity. In addition, the basic knowledge of the most modern diagnostic techniques allowing a rational and correct diagnosis will be provided. The histopathological correlations and the appropriate treatment options will also be considered. The course will finally focus on occupational dermatoses and skin cancer.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
The test consists of an oral exam on at least n. 3 questions concerning different topics of the program. The test allows to verify: i) the level of knowledge of dermatological disorders of the oral cavity; ii) the ability to apply this knowledge to solve specific problems inherent to such disorders (problem solving and independent judgment); iii) the clarity of presentation; iv) the property of medical-scientific language.
