Didactic Elective Activity: Seminar

Students of the 1st and 2nd year are invited to attend a seminar by Prof. Dennis Shasha (New York University) on Thursday, February 13, at 12:00, in Aula 2, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Prof. Shasha, visiting our university this week, will present “AI-Aided Advisors: Design and Validation”.

The seminar will explore dietnerd.org, an AI-driven system providing diet and health advice. Prof. Shasha will discuss the workflow, key design choices prioritizing safety and accuracy, and validation methods, including blinded expert studies and systematic review comparisons. He will also address broader applications in AI-based expertise for wireless standards and financial investment.

Prof. Shasha is a renowned computer scientist specializing in databases, algorithms, and bioinformatics. He has authored numerous scientific and popular works and collaborates with institutions to tackle complex data challenges.
