Credit Recognition

Students who are applying for credit recognition must follow the instructions provided below. Please read carefully and avoid submitting unnecessary documentation, which would significantly extend the evaluation period.

  • In the online application, you must include the curricula of the courses for which you are requesting recognition; the absence of curricula renders the request invalid.
  • Recognition can only be requested for courses included in the curriculum of the Medicine and Surgery degree program; please do not include courses that do not have a corresponding match.
  • The online application pertains to courses from all six years, not just those from the first year.
  • It is essential to review the Educational Regulations of the degree program (chapter 2.5) to avoid requesting recognition for courses that cannot be validated for students coming from degree programs other than LM-41 (i.e., different from Medicine and Surgery). In particular, the recognition of exams is conditional on the fact that they have been passed in scope of a Master’s degree Course – LM-41, with the course(s) delivered and exam(s) taken in English.
  • For students from Medicine and Surgery degree programs, the mentioned courses are NOT recognized if they were obtained through credit transfers, meaning if the exam was actually taken in a degree program different from Medicine and Surgery.
  • Courses taken more than twelve years ago will not be recognized.

A tutorial on the online procedure to follow for credit recognition is available. For questions on the procedure, please contact the Student Secretariat at settore.medico@unict.it
