New Didactic Elective Activity
Students are informed that on October 3rd and 4th 2025, in Romano Palace Hotel (Viale Presidente Kennedy, 28, Catania) the elective teaching activity entitled "Type 2 Diabetes in Internal Medicine practice" will take place. This activity is offered as an elective course for students of the Medicine and Surgery program by Prof.ssa L. Frittitta and Prof. R. Polosa. To book your spot, please use the following link.
The elective teaching activity is free for all students of the course. There will be free passes for coffee breaks and lunch. To be considered valid as ADE participating both days is mandatory. Students who successfully register will receive a confirmation email.

The Italian Ministry of University and Research has published Ministerial Decree No. 599 dated August 7, 2025. The decree defines the procedures and content of the admission test to the Medicine and Surgery degree program for the 2025/2026 academic year.

With the election of Student Representatives and the transition to the third year of the program, which expands both the faculty body and the electorate, elections will be held in the academic year 2025/2026 for the Presidency of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery, along with the establishment of official offices and commissions.

Upcoming Curriculum Changes for Medicine and Surgery Program
Starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, our Medicine and Surgery program will undergo updates to comply with new national regulations aimed at increasing flexibility and interdisciplinarity in university curricula, allowing students greater autonomy in customizing their study plans. This initiative aligns with Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). As part of this transition, our course offerings have been reviewed and updated to ensure compliance with the new regulations.

ANVUR Earns WFME Accreditation
The Italian National Agency for University and Research Evaluation (ANVUR) has received accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). This recognition, valid until March 31, 2034, highlights ANVUR's commitment to maintaining high standards in medical education. The accreditation opens doors for Italian medical graduates to pursue specialization opportunities in the United States.
